With pay4one Fraud Management, online shoppers can be excluded from shopping in your shop according to name, credit card number, country profiles, IP addresses and other criteria.

Tips for you – The typical security features of credit cards:

Mastercard

  • The credit card number starts with a “5”, has 16 digits and is embossed.
  • The 4 small printed digits below the individual card number must be identical to the first 4 digits of the 16-digit card number.
  • Cards for contactless payment have the contactless symbol and/or the PayPass logo on them.
  • The signature field on the reverse side must show “MasterCard” in a continuous diagonal in the background.

Visa

  • The credit card number starts with a “4”, usually has 16 digits and is embossed.
  • The 4 small printed digits below or above the individual card number must be identical to the first 4 digits of the card number.
  • Cards for contactless payment have the contactless symbol and/or the payWave logo on them.

American Express

  • The American Express logo is printed on the front.
  • The credit card number starts with a “3”, has 15 digits and is embossed.
  • The card verification number has 4 digits and is located on the front, right above the credit card number.

Diners Club

  • The Diners Club logo is printed on the front.
  • The credit card number starts with a “36”, has 14 digits and is embossed.

General features frontside:

  • Card number and cardholder name, usually embossed in high relief
  • Logo of the respective card product and, if applicable, hologram
  • Expiry date or validity period
  • Usually EMC chip

General features backside:

  • Signature strip
  • Card verification number, usually on the reverse side

Discover

  • The Discover logo is printed either on the front or on the back.
  • The credit card number starts with 6011, 6400 or 6500, has 16 digits and is embossed.
  • There is an embossed “D” on embossed cards.
  • The signature field contains the last 4 digits of the credit card number.
  • To the right of the signature field is the 3-digit card verification number 6011 0000 0000 4000 CARD HOLDER NAME 12/15 D 123640000 4672 0174 0812 0901

UnionPay

  • The credit card number has 16 digits and usually starts with 62.
  • The three-digit card verification number is written on the right in the signature field…. 123 6200 0000 0000 6200 0000 0000 CARDHOLDER NAME 12/15

Visa Electron

  • The Electron logo is always either on the front or the back. In addition, the pigeon hologram and the Visa logo may be displayed.
  • The words Electronic use only on the front of the card indicate that Electron cards may only be used in conjunction with electronic authorisation. This notice may also appear in other languages.
  • The signature field can be on the front or back of the card. It is printed consecutively with the word “Electron” in blue, red and yellow. Electronic use only 1230000 0000
The typical security features of international debit cards:

Maestro

  • The blue and red Maestro logo is printed on the front, possibly in combination with other logos, such as girocard.
  • The cardholder can only authorise his payment by entering his PIN; payment by signature is not possible.

V PAY

  • The V PAY logo is printed on the front, possibly in combination with other logos, such as girocard.
  • The card is equipped with a chip.
  • The cardholder can only authorise his payment by entering his PIN; payment by signature is not possible.
